21 December 2009 | Albina du Boisrouvray Congratulates New Director of FXB Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard University
Albina du Boisrouvray, Founder and President of FXB International, applauded the appointment of Dr. Jennifer Leaning as Director of Harvard University's Francois-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard.
"I am delighted that Jennifer Leaning has been named director of the University's FXB Center for Health and Human Rights. I have admired Dr. Leaning's expertise and deep commitment to managing humanitarian crises and human rights for many years. I believe her extensive field experience in human rights crises, outspoken expertise and her focus on the well-being of children will enhance the contributions the Center makes to the world's most vulnerable children," Ms. du Boisrouvray stated.
The FXB Center at Harvard was founded in 1993 by Ms. du Boisrouvray as the first academic center to focus exclusively on the dynamic between the issues of health and human rights, combining the academic strengths of research and teaching commitment to service and policy development. FXB International is the field laboratory of the FXB Center at Harvard and is the first NGO to have translated the rights outlined in the convention on the rights of the child into effective service delivery in impoverished settings. The Center under Jennifer Leanings leadership will continue providing experiential training opportunities to young scholars and students at FXB international field operations.
