6 November 2009 | FXB wins "Best Theme & Costume" at Airtel Delhi Half Marathon

FXB Suraksha, in partnership with Ishara Puppet Theatre Group, won the "Kingfisher Sensation Squad" award at the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon for best group theme and costume. FXB Suraksha used the theme "Hope's Alive - There is life beyond HIV/AIDS. Join us to make it a reality."
Five puppets from Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust spread the message of the importance of adopting safe behavior and education about different modes of HIV transmission. The puppets illustrated the story of a family that knows and understands the value of life and adopts all the necessary precautions to keep themselves and their children safe from HIV/AIDS.
Special T-shirts and banners were designed for the run, and participants wore giant red ribbons. A human-size puppet of a condom and a seven-foot red ribbon were the hit attraction at the run.
Over 30 team members participated in the run. The 30,000 rupee prize will be shared equally between the two partnering organizations.
Around 30,000 people participated in the 2009 Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. The presence of Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Rahul Bose, Purab Kohli and sporting celebrities like Vijender Singh added a dash of color to the event. Former Australian captain Allan Border and Sydney Olympic 400-meter Gold Medalist Cathy Freeman were ambassadors for the event. Smt Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of New Delhi, and Smt Kiran Bedi were also present to cheer on the runners.
The FXB Suraksha team would like to thank all their supporters.
